Job summary

Jobvite, Inc. is seeking a Plant Operator for a ready-mix concrete batching facility to safely and efficiently operate computer-controlled systems that proportion materials into mixer trucks.

In this role you will support dispatch, manage material inventories, perform routine inspections, and uphold OSHA and environmental standards while maintaining strong teamwork with drivers and customers. The position blends technical monitoring with hands-on labor and requires attention to safety, quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
• 1+ years of experience in a Ready-Mix, Construction, or Heavy Industrial environment.
• Understanding of safety, quality control, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer-controlled batching software to transfer materials from storage bins through weigh hoppers and into mixer trucks.
• Read and interpret computer-delivered orders to ensure the correct mix design and slump.
• Visually monitor loading areas and truck positioning for efficient delivery and clean outcomes.
• Print, record, and file delivery tickets; maintain daily records of production stats, fuel usage, and inventory.
• Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of silos, weigh hoppers, conveyors, and plant structures.
• Clean hoppers, mixers, and plant grounds; use hand tools for shoveling, sweeping, and washing equipment.
• Diagnose process interruptions and assist maintenance with minor repairs (air valves, gates).
• Maintain OSHA and DOT compliance and uphold Guardian Angel safety culture.
• Demonstrate Lockout/Tagout procedures during maintenance or clearing of equipment.
• Monitor dust collectors and water systems to ensure permit compliance.
• Monitor stockpiles and silo levels; assist management in material orders to prevent delays.
• Communicate with Dispatch to balance driver hours and ensure on-time delivery; provide product information to customers.
• Operate mobile equipment (front-end loader, skid steer) to manage stockpiles and returned concrete.
