This part-time position reports to the Principal and requires a Bachelor's degree or enrollment in a teaching certification program, plus relevant certification and tutoring experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or enrolled in a teaching certification program at a college or university.
• Grade level and content certification.
• Experience teaching or tutoring elementary students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of authorized administrators, the tutor shall provide academic assistance for students with developing reading skills and concepts in grades 1-3.
• Provide one-to-one or small group instruction.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and collaborate effectively with students of varying backgrounds and levels of need.
• Collaborate with teachers to determine strategies to increase student achievement.
• Provide instruction in targeted areas based on student data.
• Monitor student progress.
• Be familiar with Google Platform and applications, especially Google Classroom.
• Create and maintain a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to learning.
• Assist content area teachers in implementing and following student-learning plans.

REPORTS TO: Principal or Principal Designee

RESPONSIBILITIES

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must be available during the school day 8:00 a.m. - 2:20 p.m.

Not to exceed 8 hours per week

SALARY

Stipend - $36 per hour

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT

February 2026 - June 2027

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of St Mary's evaluation system, observations by Administration, and student feedback.
