Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking a Reading Tutor to help students become strong readers in local schools. You’ll deliver proven activities, coach students, and follow a set schedule with regular progress tracking.

Each school day you’ll work with pairs for 20 minutes, coordinating with an on-site coach. We are hiring for the 2026-27 school year (August 2026–June 2027); 35 hours per week, daytime, Monday–Friday, with some part-time roles (25 hours/week) available.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance
• Able to follow instructions and adapt based on feedback
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation)
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• Able to successfully complete a background check

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores in data software
