Syracuse University seeks an Access Services Supervisor for the Special Collections Research Center to ensure equitable access to rare materials and manage a busy Reading Room. You’ll supervise student employees, coordinate researcher visits, and respond to reference requests in a collaborative library environment.

Responsibilities include guiding staff, implementing policies, and collaborating with the librarian to ensure privacy, copyright compliance, and service excellence for on-campus

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of relevant work experience in public service areas of a library, museum, or other cultural heritage or academic service setting.
• Demonstrated supervisory and/or service management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and answer information requests.
• Commitment to contributing to an equitable, inclusive environment.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and manage all Reading Room operations during operational hours.
• Manage Scheduling for Reading Room staffing and provide back-up coverage.
• Coordinate visit requests for researchers and manage appointments.
• Update and implement Reading Room policies and procedures.
• Plan and deliver staff training and onboarding for Reading Room policies.
