Job summary

Utica University is seeking a Circulation Assistant to support Access Services in the campus library. You will check out and return materials, assist students and staff, and help maintain accurate records while providing excellent customer service.

Reporting to the Coordinator of Access Services, you will supervise work-study students, respond to library emails, and help ensure the library opens and closes smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Check out and discharge library materials, assist patrons with locating items.
• Serve as main contact for library phone lines and monitor email accounts.
• Provide basic reference assistance when no librarian is on duty.
• Enforce library policies and maintain a conducive study environment.
• Supervise student assistants on shifts and coordinate with supervisors.
• Assist with shelving, interlibrary loan processing, and reserves.
• Open/close the library following established procedures and ensure security.
• Maintain patron records and confidentiality.
