Job summary

LEAD Charter School in Newark, New Jersey seeks a Reading Interventionist to work with students to strengthen reading skills, from letter naming to comprehension strategies. You will design targeted lessons with teachers, provide individual or small-group instruction, and monitor progress toward literacy goals.

This role emphasizes collaboration with parents and staff, data-driven decision making, and commitment to the NOYN model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Reading, English or related field required.
• New Jersey English certification (K-8 or 9-12) required.
• Strong collaboration with families and staff.
• Ability to personalize instruction using differentiation and technology.
• Familiar with RTI and Tiered Instruction approaches.

Responsibilities

• Consult with classroom teachers on reading instruction using progress-monitoring tools.
• Design interventions and write lesson plans detailing methods and materials.
• Monitor and report student progress to inform instruction.
• Work with parents and staff to coordinate the reading program within the curriculum.
• Support literacy development through reading programs and materials.
