Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks a Reading Interventionist for K-5 at Great Hearts Blossom Rock (Apache Junction, AZ). You will lead targeted reading interventions, support universal screenings, enter data, and participate in data teams to improve student outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, K-12 teaching experience, and familiarity with Guided Reading, Benchmark assessments, and progress monitoring. Experience with Singapore Math is preferred, and Spalding Phonics training is a bonus.

Position Title: Reading Interventionist K-5Location: Great Hearts Blossom Rock (Future Address: 10100 South Miners Way Trail, Apache Junction, AZ 85120)Reports To: HeadmasterFLSA Status: Salaried-ExemptCompensation Type: SalaryCompensation Amount: starting at $42,080Position Summary: To create a rigorous intervention program for students who have been identified as requiring math and reading interventions for struggling students, Tier II and Tier III interventions, and to support universal screenings, data entry, and data teams.Roles and Responsibilities:Provide small group reading or math interventions for students identified as needing math, and/or Tier II/Tier III support.Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, the other interventionist, and special educators to design and implement an effective intervention programMonitor and track student progressHelp administer diagnostic assessments, progress monitor and enter progress monitoring data as neededRequired/Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree or higherRequired/Preferred Experience:K-12 teaching experienceExperience with Guided Reading, Benchmark assessments, progress monitoring and small group adult led instruction requiredExperience with Singapore Math program strongly preferredTraining in Spalding Phonics and other reading intervention programs a great bonusStrong knowledge of research-based math and literacy intervention strategiesRequired/Preferred Skills: Able to collaborate with many teachers, coaches, and administratorsAble to manage a flexible schedule and work with students in K-12 in reading, writing, math and sometimes social skill development as necessaryPhysical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
