Job summary

West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics is seeking a Temporary Reading Interventionist Paraprofessional to support students in reading interventions and in general classroom settings.

The role involves small-group or one-on-one instruction, collaboration with certified teachers, and supervision during lunch and recess. A high school diploma is required, with preference for additional education and ParaPro certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate degree or 60+ hours of college credit preferred.
• Passing score (460) on ETS Para Pro Assessment.
• Prior experience working with students or children is desired.
• Competency in reading components taught in grades K-5.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small groups or one on one for reading intervention.
• Support students in classrooms during lunch and on the playground during recess.
• Meet with students in small groups to implement systematics phonics program (UFLI), reading fluency and comprehension.
• Lesson planning will be done with certified teachers.
