Job summary

West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics is seeking a Temporary Reading Interventionist Paraprofessional to support students in reading interventions and in general classroom settings.

The role involves small-group or one-on-one instruction, collaboration with certified teachers, and supervision during lunch and recess. A high school diploma is required, with preference for additional education and ParaPro certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate degree or 60+ hours of college credit preferred.
• Passing score (460) on ETS Para Pro Assessment.
• Prior experience working with students or children is desired.
• Competency in reading components taught in grades K-5.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

• Take instruction from building administrator, lead interventionist, and /or data coordinator
• Meet with students in small groups to implement systematic phonics program (UFLI), reading fluency, and comprehension
• Lesson planning will be done with certified teachers

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a criminal justice fingerprint/background check.

Preferred: Experience with working with students in small grouper, Teaching Certification

Compensation: $15 - $20 per hour, pay to be commensurate with qualifications and experience

Schedule: 40 hours per week
