Job summary

Millicoma Coos Bay School District in Coos Bay, Oregon is seeking an Educational Assistant for Reading Intervention to support Title 1 reading programs. The role involves working with small groups or individuals under the guidance of the Intervention Specialist to deliver targeted interventions and reinforce lessons.

The position is a 10-month employee group with responsibilities including monitoring progress, collaborating with teachers and families, and assisting with instructional materials

Qualifications

• Two years of college education or an AA.
• Experience with students with a variety of learning needs.
• Familiarity with Special Education laws and policies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Intervention Specialist in delivering targeted interventions and instructional support to students with varying learning needs.
• Provide support to students with different learning profiles, including students with disabilities.
• Lead small groups or one-on-one sessions to reinforce lessons and ensure understanding.
• Monitor student progress and document observations for the Intervention Specialist and Case Manager.
• Communicate with families and team members about student progress and concerns.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays as directed.
• Assist during lunch, recess, and transitions to ensure student safety.
