NW Recruitment Services Ltd are advertising an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB driver role based in Blackburn. The position is temporary ongoing with a view to permanent depending on performance and attendance. Local BB postcode deliveries form the bulk of work.

Typical day starts around 08:30 with finish between 16:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. Occasional deliveries to Preston or Manchester may arise. A pension is on offer as part of the package.

Qualifications

Working hours:

• 1 x 08:30am – approximately 4:00pm / 5:00pm (Monday to Friday)
• 1 x 08:30am - approximately 4:00pm / 5:00pm (Monday & Tuesday only)

NW Recruitment Services Ltd are exclusively supporting an established construction supply business based in Blackburn with the recruitment of an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver.

The business supplies building and construction materials for home renovations, improvement projects and trade customers, with the majority of deliveries made directly to customers across the local area.

The role will involve operating an HGV Class 2 vehicle fitted with HIAB / brick grab equipment, delivering materials safely and efficiently to customer properties and project sites.

The majority of work will be within the BB postcode region, with approximately 12–13 deliveries per day. Deliveries to Preston will typically take place once or twice per week, while Manchester deliveries will arise infrequently.

Key responsibilities:

• Safely operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle equipped with HIAB / brick grab equipment.
• Load, transport and unload building materials and construction products.
• Safely operate the HIAB / brick grab when loading and unloading materials.
• Deliver predominantly to customers within the BB postcode region.
• Complete occasional deliveries to Preston and Manchester.
• Ensure all goods are delivered safely, accurately and in good condition.
• Safely manoeuvre and position the vehicle at customer properties and delivery locations.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records where required.
• Follow all relevant UK road traffic legislation, transport regulations and company procedures.
• Work safely at customer premises and construction / project sites.
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues and site personnel.
• Represent the business professionally and provide a high standard of customer service.
