Our client is a well-established industrial services business based in Washington, supplying products and materials to customers across the North East.
Due to continued business requirements, they are looking to appoint a reliable and hardworkingDriver / Warehouse Operativeto join their team. This is a varied position, with the majority of your time spent making deliveries, alongside warehouse and occasional FLT duties.
The role will be split approximately as follows:
- Safely and efficiently deliver industrial products and materials to customers across the North East.
- Load, secure, transport and unload goods in line with health and safety requirements.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to ensure punctual and reliable deliveries.
- Complete delivery paperwork and obtain customer signatures where required.
- Provide professional and friendly customer service when representing the business.
- Work closely with warehouse and office teams to coordinate orders and delivery schedules.
- Pick products accurately from pick sheets and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Check product codes, quantities and descriptions to ensure orders are correct.
- Pack and label goods securely and prepare them for delivery.
- Load and unload stock
The successful candidatewill ideally have:
- Previous experiencein adriving, warehouse, orlogistics environment.
- A full, validUK driving licencewith a cleanor acceptable drivingrecord, due to insurance purposes you will need to be over the age of 25
- Previous experience operatinganFLT, with a validlicence/certificate desirable.
- Good knowledge oftheNorth East roadnetwork.
- Experience picking andchecking orders usingpick sheets.
- Good attention todetail with theability to workaccurately and efficiently.
- A reliable, punctualand flexible approachto work.
- Good physical fitness, as the roleinvolves loading, unloadingand moving stock.
- A professional andcustomer-focused mannerwhen making deliveries.
- Good communication skillsand the abilityto work effectivelyas part ofa team.
