Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Station Manager for the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area. The role requires leading the station's P&L, driving EBIT, improving customer satisfaction, and collaborating with the global network to deliver reliable service.

You will manage costs, engage staff, and represent the station with local authorities. Responsibilities include negotiating with suppliers, guiding strategic and operational decisions, and supporting Field Sales and Key Accounts to close

Qualifications

• Good understanding of freight forwarding industry.
• Knowledge of station level administrative matters.
• Ability to take ownership and drive station solutions independently.
• Proven track record in people management role (leadership, motivation and people skill).
• Good communication skills.
• Strong Air Freight background seen as major benefit.

Responsibilities

• Manage Station's EBIT result.
• Ensure employee engagement, targeting for the best results.
• Ensure and Improve customer satisfaction via Service First incl. process improvements.
• Drive GoGreen agenda.
• Deals with local authorities and acts as a legal representative of the station.
• Represent the station towards employees and organize company events.
• Decide upon all administrative matters at station.
• Lead negotiations with external suppliers.
• Accompany Field Sales and Key Account Sales on visits to important clients or prospective clients.
• Hiring decisions at station level (subject to next-level approval).
• Functional strategy decisions and operations, including negotiations with AFR/OFR/inland suppliers.
• Set and evaluate performance targets and ensure policy adherence.
