Job summary

San Pedro Smiles Dentistry in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA seeks a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support the dentist in delivering optimal patient care. You will perform x-rays, intra-oral imaging, chair-side assistance, and help create a positive patient experience.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED with state certification/licensure; an associate degree or certificate is preferred. This role offers benefits and opportunities for growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; state certification/licensure required.
• State-mandated certifications/licensure for dental assistants (e.g. radiograph exposure, coronal polish).
• Associate degree or 1-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for the best possible treatment with urgency.
• Participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by addressing patient needs and concerns.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors.
• Take x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories per ADA guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, HIPAA, and related policies.

Education

High school diploma or GED
