Job summary

Sentara Heart in Norfolk, VA seeks a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) to join the cath lab team. The role supports diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including catheterizations, angioplasties, and EP studies, with emphasis on patient prep, monitoring, and post-procedure care.

The position requires RCIS/ARRT certification or equivalent, BLS, ACLS within 90 days, and at least 1 year in a cardiovascular invasive setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school preferred.
• 1 year experience in a cardiovascular invasive environment preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• RCIS or ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications under physician direction and participates in on-call rotation.
• Acts as first assistant during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as cardiac catheterizations and angioplasties; operates imaging/hemodynamic equipment; maintains sterile field.
• Prepares patients, monitors in real time, documents procedures, and coordinates post-procedure care.
