Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab under physician supervision. The role involves assisting with monitor duties, scrub and circulator tasks, and equipment operation.

Required qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science, current AHA ACLS, RCIS certification within six months, and ARRT/TX RT(R) options in lieu of RCIS.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire; ARRT and TX RT(R) acceptable in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Interprets basic and advanced dysrhythmia, reads EKGs, and operates physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician as monitor tech during cath lab procedures and operates imaging equipment.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status and handling supplies.
• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab; maintains sterile technique and prepares the lab for procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and manages inventory."
• Post-procedure care including arterial/venous sheath removal, hemostasis, and patient monitoring.
