Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a flagship hospital of Methodist Health System, seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor’s in science, AHA ACLS, RCIS within six months, ARRT/TX RT(R) in lieu, and duties including monitoring, scrub, circulator tasks, patient prep, and equipment troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree with science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification required within six months of hire; ARRT and TX RT(R) may substitute.
• Cath lab knowledge and ability to operate imaging equipment under physician direction.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures; interprets basic/advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs; operates physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Circulator duties: monitor patient status, hand supplies, and operate imaging equipment as directed.
• Transports patients to and from the department; prepared lab for procedures; maintains sterile technique.
• Cleans, stocks the cath lab, and ensures proper inventory control; troubleshoots equipment problems.
