Job summary

Bledsoe County Schools is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral support to students and collaborate with teachers, BCBA, and families. The role emphasizes implementing behavior plans, collecting data, and maintaining confidentiality within a school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary study preferred.
• Active RBT certification through BACB or equivalent where required.
• Complete RBT training, assessments, supervision, and renewal to maintain certification.
• Meet district employment requirements including background checks.
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively with students, including those with disabilities.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and other laws.
• Maintain current CPR/First Aid or other required certifications when needed.
• Meet federal/state requirements and district policy for RBT roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral support to students in classrooms under supervision.
• Implement behavior plans, skill acquisition programs, and other interventions as directed.
• Follow IEPs, 504 plans, safety plans, and related educational documents.
• Collect data on student behavior, skill acquisition, and progress.
• Maintain records and share data with supervising staff and administrators.
• Assist with strategies to increase appropriate behaviors and communication skills.
• Ensure fidelity of interventions and assist with generalization across settings.
• Maintain student dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.
