Job summary

Werner Enterprises seeks a Rate Publication Specialist to join a high-energy team. You will configure rating modules, manipulate data in Excel, and ensure pricing accuracy from contracts to invoices.

You will coordinate across Pricing, Billing, Sales, and Customer Service to maintain data integrity and timely rate updates across internal and external portals. The ideal candidate brings strong Excel skills, 1–2 years in customer service or transportation, and familiarity with AS/400 systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1–2 years customer service experience preferred.
  • 1–2 years transportation experience preferred.
  • 1–2 years Transportation System (AS/400) experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills (V-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, formatting) required.

Responsibilities

  • Configure rating modules and analyze freight execution profiles.
  • Perform data manipulation using Excel to translate awards into pricing.
  • Act as hub between Pricing, Billing, Sales and Customer Service.
  • Investigate and resolve no-rate errors and billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update rates across Werner systems and portals.
  • Generate official rate agreements and publish rate publications.

Reporting to the Manager of Rate Administration, you will join a high-energy team where best-in-class is our daily standard.If you love diving deep into data, solving puzzle-like discrepancies, and seeing the direct impact of your work, this is your launchpad.What You’ll DoConfigure Rating Modules: Analyze freight execution profiles and configure rate structures in our systems to match complex, high-value customer contracts.Data Manipulation & Integrity: Perform heavy file preparation and manipulation using the Microsoft Suite (Excel-heavy) to translate customer awards into live pricing.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a central hub between Pricing, Billing, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure seamless communication and execution.Technical Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve "no-rate" errors and billing discrepancies with a sense of urgency, often requiring same-day resolution.Financial Safeguarding: Manage and audit rate implementations to prevent errors that directly impact our financial reporting and bottom line maintaining our financial integrity.System Management: Maintain and update rates across both internal Werner systems and external customer portals to ensure alignment with business rules.Essential Job FunctionsImplementation: Manage and implement large-scale customer awards based on specific load execution requirements.Communication: Maintain clear, concise documentation of rate modifications and research findings within internal systems.Analytical Problem-Solving: A root-cause mindset. Determine why the issue occurred and how to prevent it.System Optimization: Assist management in the development and enhancement of rating systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.Technical Support: Serve as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding rate administration inquiries and troubleshooting.Reporting: Generate official rate agreements to finalize publications for Werner Enterprises. Analyze rate discrepancies and collaborate with partner departments to resolvePerform other duties as assigned by supervisorIn-Person.
