Job summary

Biogen seeks a Director of Rare Disease Market Access Strategy to lead the development and execution of the Market Access & Reimbursement (MA&R) strategy for SMA and ALS in the US. You will build payer messaging, pricing, contracting, and coordinate across MA&R functions with senior leadership.

You will guide a dedicated team, align with the Rare Disease Franchise, and drive access for SMA/ALS through evidence generation and strategic orchestration with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in U.S. market access, payer marketing or related fields in pharma/biotech.
• Ability to work cross-functionally to develop payer messaging, contracting strategy, business cases and field trainings.
• Knowledge of payer research methodologies, financial analyses, and gross-to-net dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, strategic and critical thinking with ability to translate data into strategy.
• Ability to deliver clear, compelling presentations to a senior executive audience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive market access strategies for SMA and ALS brands across payer segments.
• Lead cross-functional planning to ensure alignment with approved strategies.
• Coordinate with Rare Disease Franchise for overall strategy and messaging.
• Deliver value propositions, messaging, and promotional materials for key segments.
• Define and drive contracting, pricing and innovative contracting strategies.
• Model scenario-based business cases for senior leadership.
