Biogen, Inc. in Cambridge, MA seeks a Director of Rare Disease Market Access Strategy to lead development and execution of MA&R strategies for Friedreich Ataxia (FA).

You will coordinate cross-functional teams across payer insights, trade, patient access, and regional accounts, aligning with the Rare Disease Franchise. The role reports to the Head of Rare Disease Access Strategy and leads a dedicated MA&R team to optimize FA access, including value messaging, contracts, and evidence generation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in U.S. market access, payer marketing, pricing, or related fields within pharma/biotech.
• Ability to develop payer messaging, contracting strategy, build business cases, and training/communication plans for field teams.
• Knowledge of payer research methodologies, financial analyses, and gross-to-net dynamics.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills; ability to present complex pricing topics to executives.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet goals; strong cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute market access strategies to support FA brands across payer segments.
• Lead cross-functional planning across MA&R functions to ensure strategy alignment.
• Coordinate with Rare Disease Franchise on strategy and messaging.
• Deliver value propositions, messaging, and materials for payer segments.
• Champion pull-through activities to optimize access.
• Partner with Medical, HEOR, and Global V&A to support evidence generation.
• Define and drive contracting and pricing strategies with Brand, legal, and finance.
• Model scenario-based business cases to support contracting recommendations.
