Job summary

Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, Inc. is seeking a Rapid Response Specialist to coordinate services for mass layoff events and connect affected workers with reemployment resources.

The role interfaces with employers, partner agencies, and CareerSource Tampa Bay to deliver rapid response activities and workshops. You will support WIOA processes, assist in transitioning workers to services, and help monitor industry trends to inform layoff aversion strategies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in public or business administration or related field.
• 1–3 years of related employment and training services experience.
• Experience with layoff aversion or Short-Term Compensation programs is a plus.
• Experience with WIOA Employment Programs and/or Rapid Response Programs is highly preferred.
• Florida Workforce Professional Certification Tier I is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, o365, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate CareerSource services for all Rapid Response projects.
• Attend required meetings and prepare Rapid Response presentation information.
• Assemble transition centers and document off-site services as needed.
• Serve as liaison between CareerSource Tampa Bay, Employers, Business Services Team, One Stop Operator and Partner Agencies for rapid response events.
• Coordinate presentations and staffing at Rapid Response information sessions.
• Consult with employers and employees to coordinate rapid response activities.
• Present CareerSource services in Rapid Response information sessions.
• Gather and share survey data from information sessions with CareerSource Tampa Bay and vendors.
• Assist in coordinating WIOA registrations for dislocated workers needing intensive services.
• Represent CareerSource at conferences and meetings as required.
• Monitor industry data for layoff aversion programming and provide guidance on STC.
