Job summary

Collaborative Support Programs of NJ Inc. (CSPNJ) is seeking a full-time Rapid Rehousing Specialist to assist individuals experiencing homelessness in Atlantic County. Under supervision, you will help access housing resources, coordinate documentation, and liaise with landlords to secure stable housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related discipline or a High School Diploma/GED.
• 2+ years of related experience in housing, homelessness, social services, property management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of the causes, trends, challenges, and potential solutions related to poverty and homelessness.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively work with individuals, businesses, landlords, and community partners in emotionally challenging or stressful situations.
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of strengths-based and solution-focused practices.
• Demonstrated ability to engage individuals with empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices, including individuals living with mental health and/or substance use challenges.
• Willingness to openly share relevant lived experience, including current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services, experiences with homelessness, and aspects of personal recovery.
• MUST be proficiency in Microsoft Office products and general computer applications.
• Ability to effectively engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses through empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Bilingual skills are a plus!
• MUST have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.

Responsibilities

• Educate individuals and families on housing vouchers and rental assistance programs, including eligibility and benefits.
• Develops and maintains relationships with landlords, property managers, and referral agencies to expand housing opportunities.
• Works directly with individuals during housing search and leasing, assisting with housing, applications, documentation, communications, and addressing barriers to stability.
