Job summary

Collaborative Support Programs of NJ Inc. in Morris County seeks a full-time Rapid Rehousing Specialist to help individuals and families access housing resources, including HUD-VASH vouchers, and maintain stable housing.

Under supervision of the Diversion Supervisor, you will educate on voucher programs, build landlord relationships, assist with housing searches and leasing, and apply trauma-informed, empathetic practices to support clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related discipline or a High School Diploma/GED is required.
• 2+ years of related experience in housing, homelessness, social services, property management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of poverty and homelessness challenges and potential solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and general computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Educates individuals and families on housing vouchers and rental assistance programs, including eligibility requirements and benefits of participating in voucher programs.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with landlords, property managers, referral agencies and community partners to expand housing opportunities and facilitate housing placements.
• Works directly with individuals throughout the housing search and leasing process, assisting with identifying housing, completing applications, coordinating documentation, communicating with landlords, and addressing barriers to housing stability.
