Job summary

The Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia seeks a dedicated instructor to lead and mentor participants across shooting venues, ensuring safety and program quality. You will provide instruction and oversee teams, while acting as SME in two or more shooting disciplines.

Responsibilities include maintaining gear, enforcing range safety, coordinating tasks with leadership, and keeping a clean, safe work area. Housing, a staff uniform, and required health screenings are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21+
• NRA Certified Instructor (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun/RSO minimum)
• Willing to become Scouting America member (background screening)

• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Instill proper knowledge, skills, and attitude with participants. Provide high quality instruction, direct leadership, and mentorship in all shooting venues.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 2+ years Summit Employment Experience or equivalent military/LE experience
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55

Salary: $2000 - $2100 per month
