DelDOT is seeking individuals for a Casual/Seasonal role at the Ommelanden Hunter Education Training center in New Castle, Delaware. Responsibilities include ensuring safety during shooting activities, operating shooting machines, and performing maintenance tasks.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess knowledge of firearms and general maintenance. This position does not provide benefits and requires reporting to orientation on the first day of employment.
The Division of Fish & Wildlife conserves and manages Delaware’s fish and wildlife and their habitats, and provides fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing and boating access on nearly 65,000 acres of public land.
These positions will be responsible for assisting with the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of the Ommelanden Hunter Education Training center and public shooting range. Job duties include operating, loading, and maintaining trap and skeet shooting machines, ensuring range safety policies and procedures, and general grounds maintenance and facility cleaning and upkeep. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and applicants must have experience with safe firearm handling. Customer service and mechanical/maintenance skills are desirable, but not required.
