We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of seasonal, intermittent Natural Resources Technician 1 within the Division of Wildlife, headquartered at the Delaware Wildlife Area Shooting Range and Education Center, assigned to Delaware County. Assist Range Supervisor and other full-time range staff with the daily operation of the ++Delaware Shooting Range and Education Center++ (e.g., check range permits, answer general questions from the public concerning the range, enforce range rules, etc.)
Perform range maintenance duties (e.g., grounds maintenance, mowing, snow removal, custodial duties, trash removal, light construction, light carpentry, equipment operation, etc.)
May also work on the Delaware Wildlife Area
Other duties as assigned
Receive an hourly pay of $20.05/hr.
12 months per year
This is a maximum duration, 1000-hour per year intermittent (unclassified) position for the Division of Wildlife
Approximately 20 hours per week
Must work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and some holidays
May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels
Ability to complete Range Safety Officer training
Experience in basic firearm operation and safe handling
Strong communications skills, including written and verbal
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to shoulder height
Proven record of being reliable and team-oriented
This intermittent position will remain at step 1 of the pay range. This intermittent position is not eligible for benefits (e.g., vision, dental, life, health insurance, holiday pay, leave accruals [vacation, personal, sick], any other paid leave, shift differential, pay supplements, etc.).
