Southwest Airlines is seeking an Assistant Manager Ramp for Richmond, USA. The role oversees staffing, safety compliance, and operation efficiency at the Ramp and associated areas. You will train staff, coordinate daily airport activities, and maintain high customer service standards for passengers when needed.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or GED), U.S. work authorization, and flexibility to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or GED equivalent required.
• U.S. citizenship or valid authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts—early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays—based on seniority.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb., stand, walk and use office equipment.
• Minimum age 18.
• Commitment to Southwest’s safety and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor staffing levels and schedule personnel to ensure operations run efficiently.
• Enforce safety and compliance procedures across Ramp, Operations and Air Freight areas.
• Maintain high‑quality customer service, building relationships with passengers at the Chicago (Midway) station as needed.
• Track performance metrics and proactively address deviations to keep the station on‑time.
• Identify and report workplace hazards, incidents and near‑misses, and assist in root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinate daily airport operations to create a safe, welcoming and compliant environment.
• Support cross‑departmental communication regarding workload, staffing and logistical matters.
• Train and develop team members, contributing to a talent pipeline.
