Job summary

Martin Marietta is offering a 10-week Summer Corporate Accounting Internship in Raleigh, NC, to support corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. You will work with seasoned professionals on a variety of tasks, including fixed assets, reconciliations, and SEC reporting, gaining hands-on experience and professional growth.

You'll contribute to projects that strengthen internal controls and reporting processes, participate in data analysis, and assist with automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum GPA of 3.25 preferred.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote safety, ethics, and compliance standards in all work activities.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting activities, including capital project setup and tracking.
• Support preparation of financial schedules and documentation for quarterly/annual reporting, including SEC filings.
• Prepare account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities and reporting processes.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and schedules.
• Participate in data analysis to identify trends and improve reporting effectiveness.
• Support automation initiatives and process improvement projects to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Gain experience using financial systems and data extraction tools to support accounting and reporting.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, FP&A, and operational finance teams.
• Develop reports, presentations, and analyses to support management decision-making and financial transparency.
• Perform all responsibilities in alignment with the Company’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Code of Ethical Conduct.
