Job summary

Benesch's Railroad Division offers an internship for civil engineering students focused on railroad track design. You will collaborate on real projects, gain hands-on experience in design, development, and project execution, and support senior engineers while learning through exposure to railway and transit systems.

You will pursue a BS in Civil or Construction Engineering, develop plans with MicroStation, and demonstrate teamwork and strong design skills to meet budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related curriculum required.
• Experience with plans and specifications using MicroStation.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with good budgeting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of railway and transit infrastructure projects.
• Conduct engineering calculations for railway system design and analysis.
• Support system layout design while coordinating with multiple disciplines.
• Develop task deliverables in a clear, thorough, and reviewable manner.
• Ensure tasks are completed on schedule within budget.
• Work independently under project manager guidance.
