Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Trainmaster to lead crews across the assigned territory, oversee both operations and administration, and ensure safety and efficiency. You will interview, hire, train, and develop staff while driving performance reviews and coaching.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, clear communication, and the ability to resolve issues with fairness in a dynamic 24/7 rail environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of railroad industry experience with supervisory duties.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; 18+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety performance, operating practices, and financial productivity of the operation.
• Interface with customers and partners, monitor service quality, and resolve delays.
• Supervise train crew employees and manage schedules and payroll within budget.
