Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. seeks a Machine Operator 1 (MO1) for field-based duties across railroad maintenance equipment. You will operate on-track MOW machinery, perform inspections, and support maintenance with a focus on safety and procedural compliance.

The role requires the ability to document activities, communicate clearly with supervisors, and travel as needed. Minimum experience includes hands-on mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic work and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Safety briefing and adherence to safe work processes.
• Ability to describe gauge and HMI functions related to operation.
• Record and report parts used and maintenance activities.
• Document daily field reports, expenses, lodging, and related admin tasks.
• Demonstrate strong communication in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive job briefing during shifts and maintenance tasks.
• Operate Loram on-track MOW equipment or on-track vehicles with supervision.
• Perform inspections, identify defects, and communicate conditions to leadership.
• Maintain and repair equipment per schedules and policies.
• Complete daily field and administrative reports as required.
