Job summary

RailWorks is seeking a Craft Foreman to direct work groups on active railway property and construction zones, ensuring adherence to railway rules and minimizing delays to operations.

The role requires at least 4 years in the rail industry, reading schedules/plans, and strong safety culture, with potential outdoor work, travel, and night shifts. RailWorks offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years related job experience in the railway industry.
• Track Inspection Guidelines certification is an asset.
• Ability to read and understand schedules, standard railway plans and specifications.
• Ability to work in a safety sensitive position directing work groups on live railway corridors.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and railway safety regulations relevant to the work.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient use of computers, tablets, etc.

Responsibilities

• Embrace safety culture and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Conduct daily job briefings to ensure understanding of site instructions.
• Review the work site daily with Supervisor/contractors to identify hazards.
• Set up, reposition, and dismantle railway signals (flags) at locations.
• Communicate with work group, flagmen, and Rail Traffic Controllers per procedures.
• Operate company vehicles and perform daily maintenance/inspections.
• Perform capital supervisor duties and related administrative tasks.
