Job summary

RailWorks is seeking a Craft Foreman to supervise work groups on active railway property and in construction zones. You will ensure that contractors clear the working zone before a train approaches, minimizing delays to rail operations.

Responsibilities include leading safety briefings, reviewing site conditions daily with supervisors and contractor reps, setting up signals, and coordinating with rail traffic controllers. Strong communication and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have railway experience and understand safety regulations.
• Ability to read schedules, railway plans, and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with computers, tablets and basic software.
• Experience directing work groups in live railway corridors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct work groups on live railway corridors.
• Conduct daily safety briefings with contractors.
• Review site daily with supervisor/contractor rep for hazards.
• Set up, reposition and dismantle railway signals at designated locations.
• Communicate with flaggers and Rail Traffic Controllers per procedures.
• Operate company vehicles and perform routine unit maintenance.
• Perform administrative duties per Quality Management System.
