Job summary

RailWorks is seeking a Craft Foreman to lead work groups across active railway sites and construction zones. You will follow railway rules, direct contractors, and ensure signals are set to protect operations, minimizing delays.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in the railway industry, strong safety and communication skills, and the ability to read schedules and plans. The role requires outdoors work, travel, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years in the railway industry.
  • Track Inspection Guidelines certification is an asset.
  • Ability to read schedules, standard railway plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position directing work groups on live railway corridors.
  • Knowledge of railway safety regulations and work hazards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct work groups on active railway property and in construction zones.
  • Conduct daily job briefings so contractors understand site instructions.
  • Review work site daily; coordinate with supervisor/contractors on hazards.
  • Set up, reposition, and dismantle railway signals (flags) at locations.
  • Communicate with work group, flagmen, and Rail Traffic Controllers using procedures and radios.
  • Operate company vehicles with proper maintenance, inspections.
  • Perform administrative duties related to documentation per Quality Management System.
