Job summary

R. J. Corman Switching Company seeks dynamic Train Crew Members in Burkville, AL to operate switches, attach/detach freight cars, and inspect trains for safety and rules compliance.

You will maintain safe working conditions, use PPE properly, and communicate professionally with customers and team members. Candidates should be able to perform strenuous outdoor work in all weather, lift up to 80 lbs, and handle equipment with care while upholding the company’s safety standards and look-good

Qualifications

• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to operate a range of vehicles and machinery safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate switches and brakes to move trains between tracks.
• Build trains by attaching/detaching freight cars and inspecting for rules compliance.
• Ensure safe working conditions and proper PPE before starting work.
• Safely operate company vehicles and other equipment following safety practices.
• Maintain customer relations with proper radio etiquette and professional communication.
• Foster teamwork and a positive work environment under the ‘One team, one goal’ motto.
• Maintain RJ Corman Look Good standards for the facility and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a Supervisor.
