Job summary

R. J. Corman Switching Company is seeking a Night Shift Team Lead to supervise train crew members on the night shift at the Burkeville facility.

You will oversee safety, operations, and adherence to company procedures while coordinating with customers and crews. Responsibilities include operating switches/brakes, assembling trains, enforcing PPE and safety standards, and maintaining equipment to RJ Corman Look Good standards.

Qualifications

• Previous railroad or industrial switching experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Ability to operate a range of vehicles and machinery in a safe and responsible manner.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Overall willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Train Crew Members during the night shift, ensuring safe and efficient operations and adherence to policies.
• Operate switches and brakes to move trains between tracks safely.
• Build trains by attaching/detaching freight cars and inspecting for rules compliance.
• Ensure safe working conditions and proper PPE before starting work.
