R. J. Corman Switching Company is seeking dynamic Train Crew Members to join our Burkville, AL team. You will operate switches and brakes to move trains safely, build trains, and ensure compliance with safety rules while maintaining equipment standards.

The role emphasizes safety, effective communication, and teamwork, with opportunities to work alongside experienced crews in a fast-paced railroad environment.

Qualifications

• Previous railroad or industrial switching experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
• Ability to operate a range of vehicles and machinery in a safe and responsible manner.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Overall willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate switches and brakes to move trains between tracks.
• Build trains by attaching/detaching freight cars and inspect for compliance.
• Ensure safe working conditions and proper PPE before starting work.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment following safety practices.
• Maintain good customer relations with radio etiquette and face-to-face communication.
• Foster team collaboration and a positive work environment.
• Maintain RJ Corman Look Good standards for facility and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
