Job summary

RailPros is seeking a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to perform on-site roadway worker protection around live rail tracks. You will coordinate job sites, communicate with dispatchers and engineers, and ensure safety across controlled and non-controlled track areas.

The role requires high attention to safety, 5+ years RWIC experience with major freight railroads, and the ability to travel frequently across multiple states. Comprehensive benefits and ongoing safety training are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of RWIC experience with Class I or II freight railroad.
• Must be able to perform on-site roadway worker protection tasks and coordinate jobsite activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide required jobsite protection per railroad rules and ensure groups are clear during train movements.
• Conduct daily job briefings with all personnel and ensure safety requirements are followed.
• Prepare and submit electronic forms for flagging, daily work reports, invoices, etc.
• Place signs, derail devices, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain clear communication with RWIC supervisors and managers about assignments and schedules.
