Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in San Angelo, TX to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail partners.

The CIC must uphold FRA regulations, conduct job briefings, monitor track safety, and coordinate train movements with dispatchers. Travel is expected 50% to 85% with a field environment focus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a railroad company or maintenance environment.
• Valid drivers license.
• Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments.
• Successfully completes all required training (federal, client, and company).

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services when needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during work near tracks.
• Monitor track conditions and coordinate with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors.
• Document all activities, including briefings, incidents, logs, and reports for management and regulatory agencies.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
