Job summary

Progress Rail in Taylor Mill, KY is hiring a Plate robot welder to join a 2nd shift team. You will weld, fabricate and join rail plate panels using MIG/SMAW and other methods, following ISO, AAR and internal quality standards. Training, overtime and quarterly bonuses are part of the role. Forklift operation may be required.

The position requires reading blueprints, using measuring tools and ensuring precise welds, with certification and safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Pass internal welding certification per ISO, AAR and regulatory standards.
• Read blueprints, assembly instructions and bills of material.
• Be able to measure with tape, calipers and scales and record data.
• Maintain welding proficiency per QSP 4.9 and site standards.
• Forklift certified and able to operate lifting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pass welding certifications and weld components per specs.
• Set up components for welding and cut material to match measurements.
• Operate grinders and tools to prep parts for welding.
• Interpret blueprints and JSA documents accurately.
• Use measuring devices to verify inspection information.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic preventive maintenance.
