Job summary

Transco Rail Services in Iowa is seeking a Railcar Paint & Blast Repair Supervisor to lead frontline operations on the shop floor. You will oversee hourly employees, ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution, and drive daily production in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time delivery. A HS diploma and 5+ years in railcar repair or related operations are required, with Lean or regulated-environment experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience in railcar repair, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of FRA regulations and AAR interchange rules.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees across repair activities.
• Drive safe work practices and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FRA, AAR, company, and customer requirements.
• Monitor daily production, track work in process, and update job status.
• Partner with Quality and EHS teams to maintain compliance and audit readiness.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of employees.
• Manage materials and equipment in coordination with Materials leadership.
• Identify improvement opportunities and support process enhancements.
• Address employee relations matters, including coaching and corrective actions.
