Job summary

CN is seeking a Supervisor, Mechanical (Car) to lead day-to-day operations for inspection, maintenance and repair of railcars and locomotives at a main terminal or line points. The role may be on-call and reports to remote locations to ensure availability, reliability and dwell targets are met to satisfy CN commitments to customers.

The position requires supervising both union and non-union staff, coordinating safety programs, and driving maintenance plans across a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Electrical and Mechanical experience.
• Minimum 4 years supervisory experience of both union and non-union Employees*
• Minimum 3 years of experience in railroad Mechanical Shopcraft or comparable position*
• Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mechanical staff to inspect and repair railcars and locomotives.
• Ensure safety compliance and training.
• Manage 24/7 shift operations and performance metrics.
• Maintain relationships with union and non-union workforce.
