Job summary

BNSF Railway in Barstow, CA is seeking an Experienced First Line Supervisor - Mechanical for a fast-paced, 24/7 shop environment. You will supervise locomotive and railcar maintenance, lead a union environment, and coordinate daily schedules to meet the daily plan.

The role requires relocation flexibility after the initial training period, travel up to 25%, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to obtain/maintain employment authorization.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspection, maintenance and repair of railcars and locomotives safely and efficiently.
• Oversee mechanical shop employees in a union environment.
• Assign and coordinate daily schedules for personnel.
• Ensure labor and equipment are positioned to meet the daily plan.
• Foster relationships with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and improvement.
• Adhere to safety rules, union agreements and FRA/AAR regulations.
