Job summary

Watco Transloading is hiring for a rail car maintenance role in Kentucky. The position handles inspection, maintenance, and repairs to rail cars, with emphasis on FRA and AAR compliance. You will re-rail cars, estimate damages, and prepare repair documentation in line with industry standards.

We seek candidates who can read blueprints, perform torch cutting and welding, and operate cranes and forklifts while maintaining precise records. The shift runs Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints precisely
• Able to operate cutting torch safely
• Performs welding and pipe work (5F)
• Adheres to FRA/AAR safety rules and regs

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair rail cars per FRA and AAR standards
• Re-rail cars and assess damages at derailment sites
• Prepare billing repair cards per AAR guidance
• Identify AAR/FRA violations when present on cars
• Maintain accurate repair records
• Operate cranes, wheel trucks, and forklifts safely
• Collaborate with other teams during derailment site operations
• Perform additional duties as assigned
