Job summary

Watco is hiring for a railcar maintenance role at our Kentucky operations. You will inspect, repair, re-rail and document repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR regulations, ensuring safety and accuracy on every job.

The position pays $19.00 per hour, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00am to 3:30pm, plus on-the-job training and opportunities for growth within Watco’s rail network.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older with High School or GED equivalent.
• Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair rail cars in accordance with FRA and AAR regulations.
• Re-rail cars and provide damage estimates at derailment sites.
• Prepare and complete repair cards in compliance with AAR office manual.
• Identify FRA/AAR violations when present on railcars.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs performed.
• Operate equipment safely, including mobile cranes, wheel trucks, and forklifts.
• Collaborate with other departments during derailment site operations.
