Road & Rail Services in Georgetown, Kentucky is hiring a Railcar Preparation Technician for the first shift. You’ll inspect and clean railcars to ensure safe loading, using backpacks, scrapers and hand tools, with hands‑on training provided.

No previous railroad experience needed; strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors are essential. This is a full‑time, on‑site role requiring physical work; opportunities exist for skill development and advancement in a veteran‑friendly, safety‑m

Qualifications

• Report to work consistently.
• Work outdoors throughout the year in heat, cold, rain, wind, and changing weather.
• Lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, reach, squat, climb, and use hand tools.
• Safely climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
• Work around railcars, industrial equipment, dust, and loud noise.
• Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Work independently while also contributing to a team.
• Maintain a safety-first attitude throughout the shift.

Responsabilités

• Inspect railcars for debris and damage.
• Clean railcar interiors with tools and equipment.
• Prepare railcars for loading and transportation of vehicles.
• Remove materials that could cause vehicle damage.
• Open, inspect, and secure railcar doors when assigned.
• Climb railcar ladders and work at heights up to 20 feet.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use; maintain them.
• Perform general labor and housekeeping around the site.
• Keep railcars and areas clean and organized.
• Report unsafe conditions or concerns; follow safety requirements.
• Wear required PPE and adhere to safety protocols.
• Complete other railcar prep and inspection tasks as assigned.
