Job summary

VTA is seeking a skilled Paint and Body Worker to maintain and restore light rail vehicles. The role covers repairing collision damage, bodywork, and painting to keep fleet appearance and reliability high.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in automotive or heavy equipment paint and body repair, including welding, metal fabrication, dent removal, and surface preparation. Applicants should be comfortable with shop tools and safety protocols; weekend/odd hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, or heavy equipment paint and body repair.
• Skilled in collision repair, metal fabrication, welding, dent removal, surface preparation and automotive painting.

Responsibilities

• Perform paint, body and sheet metal repairs on vehicles under general supervision.
• Repair collision damage and restore exterior surfaces to meet standards.
• Prepare surfaces, mix and apply paints, sand and finish finishes to restore vehicle appearance.
• Operate and maintain body shop tools and equipment; document repairs and materials used.
