Job summary

RJ Corman Railroad Services LLC is seeking a railcar wash technician to inspect, clean, and prepare railcars in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. You will operate wash bay and filtration equipment safely, monitor systems, and ensure cleanliness and containment in your area.

This role emphasizes following written and verbal instructions, learning wash bay technology, and collaborating with coworkers and customers to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Safety-minded with basic reading and math skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, and radio instructions.
• Ability to learn basic process technology, wash bay systems, filtration equipment, and railcar-cleaning procedures.
• Ability to work safely and cooperatively with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, prepare, and clean various types of railcars in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
• Operate basic wash bay, flow-process, and filtration equipment safely and according to established procedures.
• Monitor filtration systems and maintain appropriate cleanliness and containment within the assigned work area.
• Confirm customer-owned equipment meets applicable cleanliness and service standards.
• Perform general equipment maintenance and assist with minor railcar repairs that meet railroad standards and specifications.
• Complete assigned repairs such as equipment replacement, hole patching, bottom door track work, spark strip work, door straightening, floor caulking, and smoothing floor protrusions, when trained and authorized.
• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors to support accurate, timely work.
• Follow all company, customer, environmental, and safety rules, including required personal protective equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
