Job summary

Watco seeks a supervisor to oversee train crews, coordinating switching operations, loading/unloading, and ensuring safe, efficient car movements at rail yards or plants. You will implement orders, monitor safety, and train staff on regulatory rules.

Successful candidates will hold required locomotive engineer and conductor certifications, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to a changing environment while maintaining strict compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

• Must pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position.
• Current locomotive engineer and conductor certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates train crews.
• Communicates switching orders focusing on safety and efficiency.
• Utilizes systems and reports to organize and communicate customer changes to cars.
• Ensures daily train lists are executed accurately and timely by crews.
• Investigates and provides accurate incident/accident reports.
• Understands factors contributing to costs and profitability of location.
• Understands locomotive requirements based on horsepower and trailing tons and fuel cost efficiency.
• Knowledgeable of FRA regulations for railroad industry.
